Melanie Raines is an architect, designer, and educator whose work explores the relationship between emotional life, symbolism, ritual, and the built environment. Materia Studio partnered with Melanie to develop Outward Manifestations of Inner Landscapes, a narrative film and editorial feature designed to articulate the philosophy informing her practice.

Creatively directed and produced by Materia and captured by filmmaker Izack Morales, the project examines the unseen influences that shape creative expression and the ways internal experiences are translated into external form. Through film, conversation, and editorial storytelling, the project established a narrative framework for understanding the deeper ideas that underpin Melanie’s work.
