BARRO

Barro, meaning clay, was a group exhibition curated and produced by Materia Studio exploring humanity’s enduring relationship with one of its oldest creative materials. Spanning traditional artisanship, contemporary art, and collectible design, the exhibition brought together more than seventy ceramic works by emerging and established artists from across the Americas.

Presented at Materia Studio in Mexico City and later at Love House in New York, Barro examined clay not simply as a medium, but as a cultural throughline connecting utility, ritual, craft, and artistic expression across generations. The exhibition featured works by Carlos Matos, Disciplina Studio, Eny Lee Parker, LGS Studio, Amate, Nicholas Pourfard, Encrudo, Eusebio, Pablo Arellano, and others.
