Rebeca Cors was born and raised in Mexican lands, surrounded and captivated by the natural diversity and cultural richness of her surroundings, as well as the craftsmanship and traditions that breathe life into her homeland, she made her deepest purpose to preserve ancestral artisanal techniques, blending her vision with her roots, allowing her to honor and reimagine that legacy.

Cors' work studies the limits and meeting points between sculpture and utility object. Oscillating the inbetweens, as a result, creating Abstract Sculpture -and- Utility Sculpture. The materialized compositions embody simplicity and balance. A hiatus of stillness. Simplicity is not a lack of content – but the synthesis of the complex.

Cors’ work emulates nature, the earth’s surface and geological formations, canyons, mountains, and our own human anthropometry - Through abstractions of the human body and nature resemblance, the sculptures generate familiarity and tranquility. The works originate from a place of inner peace, the materials and hands add to the same intention – as a result, the works convey this serenity.
